Branding: Why you should make a ruckus!

Branding: Why should you make a ruckus?

Think about it... what do you remember? The person that looks and acts like everyone else or the one that's different? I always am drawn to the people that are different. ;)

I started my first business called, Allison Liddle Designs when I was 23 years old. At that time I was working with clients on marketing their businesses. I was fortunate to learn about making a ruckus from them. I remember coming up with CRAZY ideas to promote their traditional businesses. And they said, "YES!" Why did they allow me to implement the CRAZY marketing ideas? Because they knew that in order to stand out in the marketplace you need to be different. Some of my crazy marketing ideas included: parade floats with a real stuffed bear on it, a large eagle nest, a 5-6' cake, or the children's parade that literally stopped traffic and was in the newspaper...led by a clown! WHAT?

I understand this seems silly. It probably is. But guess what happens when you can make someone smile? They want to do work with you and they want to help you. You're now a likable expert. You stand out!

This is universal. It doesn't matter if you have a huge business or if you are branding yourself. You need to be a likable expert and stand out. People need to notice you. You need to put yourself out there. If no one knows that you exist there is not a great chance that you can't help them, right? My goal in my businesses is to help add more value to people and I need to be noticed to do that. :)
