Jump— Don’t Step— Out of Your Comfort Zone
If you would have told me 5 years ago that I'd be speaking on stages, coaching executives/leaders, and conducting corporate training for Fortune 500 companies I would have laughed in your face. Seriously...and it probably would have been a snort laugh.
You see, five years ago I was stuck and lost. I didn't know my purpose, understand my strengths, and I was struggling to keep everyone else in my life happy...other than myself.
So what happened?
Great question.
I started to intentionally JUMP outside of my comfort zone. If I thought of a goal or idea and it freaked me out then I did it! Did it seem impossible to write a book....yes. So I published it and showed myself it was possible to not only publish it but also to help people and become a bestselling author. #boom
Two books? No way is that possible I thought....so I wrote two books and once again I re-affirmed the idea that these things in my head I thought were "impossible" were actually 100% possible.
Now it's your turn. We're coming to the end of 2019 and my guess is that you have a nagging goal in your head that you have told yourself is "impossible." You may have even convinced yourself that there is NO WAY you could ever accomplish it.
I'd like you to take a moment to write down all the ways it may be possible. What would be the next step. Then write down how you would feel if you accomplished it?
Perhaps it's to get healthier, grow your relationships, get your financial life in order, find a new job, build your business bigger, make a plan, write the book, get a new haircut...I have no clue.
What I do know is that we can psych ourselves out of the very thing we should be doing if we overthink it and don't take imperfect action.
Also, I wrote a whole chapter about this in my book "The Art of Imperfect Action: All Success Comes From Daring to Begin." https://www.allisonliddle.com/book
