Why do you write books?
By Allison Liddle
Today I was asked this question. It's a great question and I was surprised how quickly the answer came to me.
I was at my chiropractor, Dr. Aaron, getting adjusted and he asked me what I was doing today.
I said," I'm getting a massage and then I'm re-writing some of the pages in my new book."
I've known him the entire time I've been an author, so he said, "Another book? How many is that now?"
"Four," I said.
"Why do you write so many books," he asked.
"I write books so I can help people I may never meet," I explained. "I love when people connect with me and tell me my book helped them."
There is something magical that happens when we write to help others. You never know who might be influenced by your story or your experiences. You never know what will come of that book, but if you have intention from the start to write to help someone, eventually it will.
When I wrote my first book I had the goal to help 1 person. As I am in the process of finishing up my fourth book I still have the goal to help one person. Why so few people. I figure if I can help someone else live a better life then I've done my job. Each one reaches one. If I focused on trying to impact everyone with a message, then it probably wouldn't really help anyone.
I'm finishing up my fourth book and I'm so excited and grateful that I will be able to share it with all of you soon.
Book #4 coming soon!
