Ending Hunger

Have you ever been assigned an impossible mission with a team you didn’t know?

Well, that’s what I just did.

I was assigned to lead a team of BRILLIANT leaders to END HUNGER.

I felt overwhelmed, frustrated, and unsure when I started this mission.

My mind was swirling with all of the things we couldn’t fix and all of the people we wouldn’t help. Then in walks a boy who’d change all of our perspectives. Luis, a teenager from Venezuela joined our team. About five years ago him and his mom immigrated to Miami, FL to escape death threats and unrest in their home country of Venezuela. They came here with $100. With no place to stay and no food, Luis experience hunger. He also didn’t know English and had to help his Mom navigate this new country. What he did was nothing short of miraculous. He started working at McDonalds 40+ hours per week, while attending high school full time. He helped his Mom find a job and they found a place to live. They were able to eat. Eventually, he started sharing his story at his high school for a few friends, and then more, and then he’d fill up the whole gym. He was inspiring others with his magnificent story of triumph.

After we met a boy who had experienced hunger we were all dedicated like never before to make a positive change and to help kids just like Luis.

Our amazing team worked tirelessly, called experts, researched, brainstormed, and dug through resources. We eventually came up with a solution.

Will it work? Will it help? I guess you’ll have to watch the TV Series to find out.
